There's So Mushroom to Grow -- Mycological Applications of Landscape Architecture
Location: Stockton, CA

My project explores the integration of mycology within urban landscape architecture at the McCormick & Baxter site in Stockton, CA while incorporating community-focused green spaces and ecological resilience strategies. The research encompasses key areas such as stormwater management, restoration and mycoremediation, wildfire rehabilitation, food security, landfill waste management, and the development of green building materials. Marginalized communities within urban areas, in particular, bear the brunt of environmental challenges, necessitating innovative and inclusive solutions. Mycology offers a promising avenue for addressing these challenges, providing nature-based solutions that are effective, cost-efficient, and equitable.
