Road to 2028: Shaping LA for the Olympics and Beyond
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Reimagining South Figueroa Street will be a key component in preparing for the 2028 Olympics while addressing current urban needs. Located at the heart of downtown Los Angeles, South Figueroa directly connects 4 key Olympic venues and Union Station, making it an ideal corridor for transformation. The vision turns this space into a vibrant, pedestrian-focused area, where both residents and visitors from around the world can gather. This car-free thoroughfare will feature integrated Metro bus and bike-share stations, with a central linear park, designed to activate the public and reduce emissions. Building on the Olympic legacy, the transformation will establish a new model for sustainable urban development, for healthier cities and people.
